Audio visual options

The hall offers a wide range of audio visual equipment to ensure your event can be seen and heard appropriately.

Lighting

In addition to lighting via dimmable wall lights as well as switchable and dimmable bright overhead LED panels, the stage area lights can be controlled by our Jester 88 lighting desk. 

The desk can be used to set colour and lamp brightness for both the lights upon the stage and for the lights in front that shine onto the stage. The combination of colour and light level allow an almost unlimited range of effects to be presented and ambiance created.

Note that the hall stage and front of house lights, if required, will switch on with a neutral white light at a medium brightness. This will suit many events without further configuration. By following the instructions situated by the lighting desk, colour and brightness can be tailored to the specific needs of your event.

Audio

The hall is equipped with a powerful bluetooth-enabled speaker, located on the stage, allowing smartphone or laptop connection. 

This speaker alone is capable of filling the hall with quality sound and is used by most hirers seeking a home or car-like connection to play music.

Instructions for pairing your bluetooth device are located with the speaker, which is located on the stage.

Our WiFi is high speed, allowing you to stream from popular services as required, or simply ensure you have the correct audio tracks on your device.

The hall carries the appropriate Performing Rights Society (PRS for Music) licence.

Should you have more complex audio needs, we wish to work with you ahead of your hiring date to ensure the necessary equipment is available, installed and configured - ready for you to switch on when you arrive and make any last minute adjustments.

We can provide, subject to any additional hiring terms and deposit, a combination of the following items:

  • A professional-level multi channel mixing desk, with a selection of microphones and speaker configurations. As part of our standard audio configuration there are microphones that very adequately amplify the stage area, useful for choirs, children’s performances, speaking events, poetry groups and similar. This is suitable for a wide variety of events
  • Specific hand-held or stand-mounted microphones, for singing or speaking applications, are also available upon request - please speak to the Bookings Secretary if you have specific requirements
  • An LED projector - which accepts HDMI input, with an electrically operated drop down screen with rear projection.
  • Note: due to our screen dropping down at the front of the stage - presenters will need to be on the main floor to deliver their content
  • A CD / DVD / BluRay player which can be used to play music or video

Notes: 

  • Please advise the Bookings Secretary that you wish to use any additional equipment, so it can be configured ready for your hire, if required
  • The showing of films by hirers must solely be limited to a non fee paying private audience. If you wish to charge or have members of the public attend, please advise the Bookings Secretary so the necessary licence can be requested and quoted as part of your hiring fee
