Fire safety
The Tysoe Village Hall Management Committee take fire safety seriously.
The blocking of any fire exit using tables, chairs or any other object is expressly forbidden.
It is good practice at the start of any event with more than just a few people to take a moment to advise your visitors of where fire exits are placed. Make light of it as you may wish, the Flight Attendant “here, here and here” with waving arms always gets a smile, but in the very unlikely event of a need to rapidly evacuate the hall could really make the difference.
Please now familiarise yourself with the following important information:
IN THE CASE OF FIRE
IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE
- Immediately report the location to the person leading your activity
- The Activity Leader will immediately raise the alarm by asking all occupants of the Village Hall and Social Club to leave the building and go to the fire assembly point on the Methodist Church car park
- The Activity Leader will call the Fire Service by ringing 999
- The location of the Village Hall is Main Street, Middle Tysoe, CV35 0SE
- If possible, attack the fire with the nearest appropriate fire extinguisher, but DO NOT TAKE UNECESSARY RISKS
- The Activity Leader should ensure that the building has been evacuated (check toilets, meeting rooms, etc)
ON BEING WARNED OF A FIRE
- Immediately vacate the premises using the nearest exit
- Close doors behind you
- Do NOT stop to collect personal belongings
- Assemble at the fire assembly point on the Methodist Church car park and make your Activity Leader aware you are safely out of the building
- Do NOT re-enter the building until the Fire Service indicate it safe to do so
