24th August - Join Fungi Frida as she travels along the Wood Wide Web to meet a host of mycological superheroes

What's it all about?

Your hall committee know just how long the summer break can be and wish to support local parents with an afternoon to entertain the little ones. So we present two subsidised events for your enjoyment.

‘Fungi Frida and the Myco Heroes’ - is an hour-long, energetic, silly, interactive performance full of songs, games, clowning, and puppetry for 0-10 year olds and their families all about fungi and how they can help us save the environment! 

Picture the scene:

Here we are in Plasticland…there’s rubbish everywhere, and that’s no good! Join Fungi Frida as she travels along the Wood Wide Web to meet a host of mycological superheroes and find the perfect mushroom ally to help us clean up the plastic - she can’t do it without you! 

Join us in the hall with your little ones and help them learn more about the environment.

Drinks and snacks will be available from the hall kitchen.

Children's disco - FREE ENTRY

For those that come to Fungi Frida there is no need to head home and back out again - please do stay with us for the children's disco, where our resident DJ Ben looks forward to spinning the decks with a mix of tracks to help the kids get rid of some of their summer energy.

Drinks and snacks will be available from the hall kitchen, whilst the adults relax in the hall and supervise their little ravers.

Timings for the 24th August

Fungi Frida - the show starts at 3pm and runs until approximately 4pm. Please arrive at the hall from 2.30pm so we can settle everyone into their seats, start on time and keep the kids engaged.

Children's disco - we will need to switch the hall into "Club Mode" after Fungi Frida and welcome any new guests. Please arrive from 4pm and you will be guided into the McNulty "Green Room". We will open up the main hall just as quickly as we can and hope to be dancing by 4.15pm or so. Depending on the energy levels (!) we will dance until 6pm.
