The film was written by Meg Leonard and Nick Moorcroft (the team behind Fisherman's Friends), and is an entirely scripted tale about the Harley family coming together to save their failing village pub through home-brewing. While fictional, it was designed as a "love letter" to traditional British pubs and explores very real world issues, such as the decline of rural community hubs across the UK.
