Sleeping Beauty - 14th December 2025
£4.00
The Sleeping Beauty holds a very special place in The Royal Ballet’s repertory, being their first performance at the Royal Opera House after World War II. In 2006, this original staging was revived and has been delighting audiences ever since. This enchanting 2023 production stars Yasmine Naghdi and Matthew Ball.
Marius Petipa's masterful, 19th-century choreography is combined with sections created for The Royal Ballet by Frederick Ashton, Anthony Dowell and Christopher Wheeldon. Together they create an enchanting sequence of ballet repertory gems – the 'Rose Adage', when Aurora meets her four royal suitors; the lilting 'Garland Waltz'; the 'Vision' Pas de deux, when Prince Florimund sees Aurora for the first time.
