An evening with Anne Youngson
Anne Youngson turned to writing fiction after retiring from a career in Product Development at Jaguar Land Rover. Her first novel Meet Me at the Museum was shortlisted for the Costa First Book award, won the Paul Torday Prize and was serialised on Radio 4. She has published two further novels, Three Women and A Boat and A Complicated Matter, as well as a book of short stories, The Six Who Came to Dinner.
Her fiction starts with character and situation, and explores reactions to change and to growing older.
Anne is married, with two adult children and one grandchild to date – two more on the way. Her husband ran a plant nursery until recently, and she has a 2-acre garden open to the public through the National Garden Scheme. She has supported many charities in governance roles, including Chair of the Writers in Prison Network, which provided residencies in prisons for professional writers, until it lost its Arts Council funding.
Join Anne at Tysoe Village Hall to hear about her life and her work. Hear her read a few passages and answer questions from the audience.
