What is the Dementia Cafe?

Voluntarily working alongside medical professionals and national charities we offer additional support to dementia carers locally. Through our own personal experiences of caring for a loved one living with dementia we both completely understand the many challenging emotions and difficulties involved.

We really see these cafe venues as an important gateway for Carer support - providing a safe, friendly, knowledgable and non-judgemental environment on a regular basis.

With lovely experienced volunteers on hand to help look after those living with dementia, the prime focus and in fact the primary reason for running these cafes is to focus on the needs of the carer .

Our Dementia Friendly Cafes offer tea and coffee, a chat, friendship and support for people living with Dementia*, carers, family and friends...plus the benefit of peer support from other carers.

*Please note that the cafe is for people who can attend safely on their own or are accompanied by someone to support them. There is no provision of direct medical support here for people living with Dementia

There is no charge for entry to our cafes - we simply ask that if you are able to then please consider making a small donation on your way out to help with our running costs.

We enjoy events and activities, supported by a wonderful group of volunteers.

When: Every Friday 10.00am - 12.00pm
